Multiple Teams · Top Finishes at District Meet for Riverdale Girls Track & Field

The Riverdale Boys and Girls Track & Field teams competed at the annual Lewis & Clark League District Track Meet on May 12-13, hosted at Portland Christian High School.

Sophomore, Zoe Zurasky took away three first place finishes and set two personal records over the weekend. Personal records were set in the 100 meter and 200 meter races with respective times of 12.76 seconds and 26.87 seconds. She also claimed first prize in the Triple Jump, with a distance of 31’1. After all her success, Zoe was also honored as the Female Athlete of the Meet. Zurasky also placed third in the 400 meter race, just missing a fourth state qualifying event.

Junior, Gillian Styring placed first in the girls Pole Vault, with a height of 9’0 ft., beating the 2nd place finisher by an entire foot.

The Riverdale Boys Track had some standouts over the weekend who barely missed qualifying for the State Championship.

Junior, Finn James competed in the 1500 meter race, placing third with a time of 4:29.01.

Junior, Fisher Ng competed in the 800 meter race, placing third with a personal record of 2:06.91.

You can see Zoe and Gillian compete at the OSAA State Championships on Thursday and Friday, May 25-26 at the University of Oregon.
