Multiple Teams · Boys Cross Country Heads to State Championships


The Maverick Boys Cross Country team and veteran coach Michael Johnson are making a push for state. The boys’ team finished 8th in state last season and are looking to return once again. With several strong showings, including a first place finishes at the Kiwanda Challenge and the OES Invite,the Mavericks seem to be hitting their stride at the right time. The boys team took first place at the 3A/2A/1A District Meet on Oct. 26th, hosted at Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation. Seniors Finn James and Fisher Ng finished in 2nd and 6th place, respectively.

The boys team will compete on Nov. 4th at the OSAA Cross Country State Championships held at Lane Community College in Eugene. Race time will begin at 10:35 AM.
